Winchester

Winchester is a traditional New England town located 8 miles north of Boston and is a highly desirable suburb, popular among young families. Its charming downtown is full of unique shops and boutiques and its proximity to Boston and access to the commuter rail makes it an ideal location for professionals commuting into Boston. Winchester was incorporated in 1850 and named after Colonel William Winchester who donated $3,000 toward the construction of the new town hall. Unfortunately, Colonel Winchester died suddenly within months of the incorporation of the town bearing his name, never having set foot in the town.
